TS4: I Fell in Love Again Last Night (Part 17)

Unable to determine context or content of above photograph.

The Sims 4: I Fell in Love Again Last Night

So after some deliberations, Nosco and Myllenium decided to kick Aidan out of the house. He wasn't doing anything to help around, continuously peed himself, and left his dirty dishes all over the house, so he had to go. Sadly, I did not take pictures of the moment he left (especially since the "moving" menu is uninteresting to look at). However, I did take pictures of the first time he came to visit. Poor Aidan looked dejected.

Seriously, it looks like Nathan is giving him the "don't have to leave but can't stay here" speech!

"See, this is where you are, and over there is where I want you to be."
I almost felt bad for the guy, but my sadness here paled in comparison to the exhilaration I felt when I realized I had a whole room to redecorate and renovate!

I tore down the wall and destroyed the adjoining bathroom in order to make more space. Then I asked myself: what would a couple (getting closer to retirement, might I add) do with a room now unused since the departure of a child? Build a bar, of course! I introduce to you all, the Sabruka Cottage Pink Bunny Bar:

Why the name? Because occasionally, this thing pops-up out of nowhere and starts dancing:

It seriously freaks me out.
The family immediately took a liking to the place, and they sometimes even have their meals there.

Nathan discovers the joy of having two drinks instead of just one.
'Cause your friends don't dance, and if they don't dance, so they're no friends of
mine.
Now, onto a more serious subject. Recently I've been noticing some worrying changes in Lilith. She's been "cooling off" by wearing some revealing pyjamas I've never seen before.

And also cooking in them, apparently.
She's also been reacting to various events differently, appearing lightheaded or dizzy. She's been asking more and more questions about relationships (and "woo-hoo"), and staring at certain paintings makes her, well, strange.

Now, I'm no doctor... but I'm pretty sure she's got progeria*.

Nah, I'm kidding, she's just a horny teenager (is "horny teenager" a tautology?). Since becoming a teenager, Lilith hasn't really had the opportunity to mingle with other teenagers of the opposite gender, or even teenagers of the same gender (we're totally okay with that). It got so bad that the first thing Lilith did when she did meet another teen was flirt with him.

Not even introduce herself, just straight up run to him and hit on the poor guy. He had a good laugh, but when he started walking away she blew kisses at him.

That's it for now! I'll leave you guys with the image I promised last time: the outside view of the new terrarium/indoor garden:

*All joking aside, Hutchinson-Guilford Progeria Syndrome would explain the rapid aging of sims...

Oh shit I am out of backlog posts!!

TS4: Heir to the Sabruka Dynasty (Part 16)

The Sims 4: Heir to the Sabruka Dynasty

I was sincerely hoping to wait until either the kids grew into young adults, or until the adults grew into elders, before deciding on the family heir, but I think this has become a non-issue over time. I mean, let's face it, who would the parents choose to carry on the Sabruka name between Aidan, who spends his entire time fishing, or Lilith, who has spent every waking moment bettering herself in every possible way?

Fishing plaques will only get you so far in life, Aidan.
As with many of the more important life events, I dedicated a day to the announcement of the family heir. I had everything prepared and all, but when Lilith and Aidan came back from school, Lilith was furious about... something. I don't know the details, only that she proceeded to take an... "angry poop".

I'm serious, "Take an Angry Poop" was the option here.
So I decided to move the announcement for the next day. Coincidentally, it would be a Saturday, so no school to piss her off! Since Lilith has the "Loves the Outdoors" trait, I had her learn some gardening skills so she can eventually take care of the massive farm they have going on.

I started what would eventually become my favourite project yet: a small solarium/den/interior garden:

There wasn't much room left on the first floor, so the den is floating somewhere on the second floor (I forgot to take a screenshot of what it looks like from outside).

The next morning, Lilith joined Myllenium and Nosco for breakfast, where they told her the good news: Lilith would become the heir to the Sabruka name.

She would inherit their estate, money, as well as the incredible art collection Myllenium has created over the years:

Lilith was ecstatic afterwards. She decided to go to the local park and play some violin, for kicks I guess.

She made many new and interesting friends as well; turns out sims enjoy listening to original compositions from the talented locals. Afterwards, she came back home, where she joined her brother and parents for dinner, right when they were telling Aidan the awkward news of his own failure.

He took it... well, I guess? I don't know, he remained neutral throughout the whole thing. Now all that's left to decide is whether or not Myllenium and Nosco would kick him out.

After a long and exhaustive day, Lilith finally went to bed, content. Now all that's left to decide is whether or not she'll kill her parents for the inheritance money...

TS4: Our House, in the Middle of Our Street (Part 15)

Remember that you can click on any image to make it bigger. I remind you because it's especially worth it to see the facial expressions in the last two images. Anyways, enjoy!

The Sims 4: Our House, in the Middle of Our Street

After many hard months (well, years for our sims), the Sabruka finally reached the pinnacle of living spaces, what will eventually be known as a monument to family life and perseverance: the Sabruka Cottage.

If you remember a while ago, I made a small interlude post explaining the purpose of the cottage, as well as showing off the design and plans. Additionally, I said I would change the style of the house to reflect the current owners' point of view, and so there will most likely be some changes in the future.

The Sabrukas seem to like their new home; Lilith and Aidan have definitely adapted well to their larger bedrooms and now-private bathrooms. Nosco has done some yardwork also to bring in his own garden (not only is it a nice hobby, but selling pristine-quality grapes is also a nice way to make money). However, I think that Myllenium is the one using the new facilities the most. In fact, when they moved in, the first thing she did was take a nice long bubble bath in their new nice long luxurious bath.

Man did I feel like a creep when taking this screenshot.
She's also been spending some time in the living room downstairs. You know, the one with the fireplace?

I mean, haven't you learned your lesson about standing only 5 feet away from an open flame, Myllenium?

REMEMBER???
Eventually, something unexpected that I completely didn't expect happened; the game kindly informed me that it would be Aidan and Lilith's birthdays in a few days. In hindsight I should have expected it. But anyways, there was no time to lose. I had Myllenium bake two birthday cakes while the kids were at school, one for each (so they can age-up at the same time):

When they got back, a small celebration was had in the kitchen; after all, it's not every day that you become a teenager!

And with a growth spurt that has me cringing at the mere thought of it, both kids grow a good feet or two into adolescents.

Who look just like adults apparently. Also, growing up makes you spontaneously
grow a hat and different clothes.
I would like to point out that their respective looks and clothes were not chosen
by me. I feel a little uncomfortable at seeing the adolescent Lilith dressed like
that.
Myllenium and Nosco were all too happy that their children were finally growing up.

Using the online random trait generator I mentioned in a past post, I randomized the kids' adolescent traits and ambitions:

Lilith has more traits because she wasn't such a dick growing up.
Their aspirations were also quite representative of their personalities, with Lilith aspiring to become a Musical Genious and Aidan working to become an Angling Ace. In fact, Aidan wants to become such an ace so much, he's pretty much spending his entire time fishing.

Sadly, he tends to keep the fish he catches inside his own pockets until they rot there (but that's my fault since I should sell them...).

Lilith, on the other hand, spent her time learning about what it meant to be an adult - er, adolescent, and what better way to learn than to be taught by your elders? One evening after school, she and Nosco sat down together in the living room, and she asked him about the elusive "woo-hoo" she had heard about. I don't know what Nosco said, but her reactions were priceless.

"It goes in my what?"
Disgusted Lilith is disgusted.
That's all for now folks! Until next time!

TS4: I Want to Grow Old with You (Part 14)

Note: Since the recent patch, EA seems to have introduced a few bugs that make the game downright unplayable on certain machines, including, sadly, mine. Aside from this update, there's another one coming after, but then I don't know when the next one will be.

On the other side, I decided to make my updates longer and more interesting, cutting out some useless tidbits, so hopefully they will be more interesting to read, at the cost of being more spaced-out.

The Sims 4: I Want to Grow Old with You

As you may have guessed from the fact that it took a whopping 3 days for Aidan and Lilith to grow from babies to school-age kids, lifespans in The Sims are a little skewed, and since I'm playing on a "long" lifespan setting, I've calculated that 4 sim-days equates roughly to 1 sim-year (assuming sims become elders at 65 years old). Nosco and Myllenium began their lives as young adults, and the time it takes for a young adult to become an adult is 80 sim-days (so about 20 years???). That time is now.

There was not much celebration. The cake seen above was baked (as is required for the age-up process), and the happy couple each blew on their respective set of candles.

Aging-up was not a graceful process for the Sabrukas. Nosco seems to have gained 20 pounds in the general face area, and Myllenium now looks exhausted.

Or maybe it's 'cause I caught her on the toilet?
And thus, Nosco and Myllenium began their new lives as adults... with really not much else changed. Myllenium continued along her path of becoming a best-selling author, and Nosco kept working at his startup.

While playing games online, Nosco eventually achieved his lifelong aspiration of becoming a Computer Whiz.

This unlocked a new option on the computer, "Earn Money Turking". Now, I don't know what turking is (and I hope to God it isn't a misspelling of "twerking"), but geez does it bring it the money or what?

Update: I just looked up what turking was, and the only thing I found was on Urban Dictionary. For the love of God DO NOT look it up.

This revenue was for about 5 seconds of "turking".
With his aspiration completed, Nosco needed something else to do in order to pass the time, so I had him pick up gardening.

And he's surprisingly good at it.
Myllenium kept on writing novels and selling them to publishers, bringing in most of the family revenue, as usual. She also began working out again, at random locations and times.

We see here Myllenium doing push-ups in the kitchen, despite the workout
machine I bought for her just a stone's throw away.
I also had her pick up painting again as a hobby (she had stopped when she moved in) and ended up maxing-out her painting skills. The house is now adorned with many masterwork-quality pieces of art.

On the left is "A Wizard Did It", and on the right is "Homage to Bob Ross."
Eventually, a life full of books and paintings can make one sort of lonely, so I had Myllenium go out a little more. Interestingly enough, she disliked public venues like the bars and nightclubs, preferring quieter venues like the library and museum. It was at the latter that she met Freya Luther, a sim I always make in every sim game in order to test the create-a-sim functions.

Here, Freya is doing what she does best, which is complain about her nonexistent
sex life. I think Myllenium is getting tired of her shit.
Aidan has grown into a real little shit, pardon my language. Here is just one of the faces he constantly makes when waking up in the morning:

His grades are going down, and he's not making any friends. Once, a girl finally started talking to him, and kept on doing so despite him generally being a little pest. He eventually invited her over, and they promptly beat the shit out of each other.

This is them fighting.
I swear I'm gonna ship that kid off to military school if he keeps this up.

Lilith has continued to better herself, and has become a somewhat decent violin player.

She maxed-out her violin skills, and has moved on to better the more social aspects of a sim, such as her charisma and comedy skills. She's even gone and made herself a few friends in the process.

This seemed to have an overall positive effect on her, as she now eats with the rest of her family.

One day, while Nosco was tending his garden, I felt like there was something missing there, something to make it more... homey? So I tried to make a small shed in the backyard. Using only roofing, I added a window and a door, and there it was! I added a small workbench inside to give it a purpose other than just being there.

Eventually, living in the small, low-rent house allowed the family to accumulate the funds needed to move into their chateau. After saying bye to the friends they made in the area, they packed up all their valuables (mostly Myllenium's masterwork paintings) and moved out, leaving behind a single, creepy ghostly gnome.

I like to think this was an impulse buy on Nosco's part, which has caused endless
arguments with Myllenium. Eventually, Nosco parted with his friend, tasking it
with guarding what was once their home.
And that's it for this update!
