On the other side, I decided to make my updates longer and more interesting, cutting out some useless tidbits, so hopefully they will be more interesting to read, at the cost of being more spaced-out.
The Sims 4: I Want to Grow Old with You
As you may have guessed from the fact that it took a whopping 3 days for Aidan and Lilith to grow from babies to school-age kids, lifespans in The Sims are a little skewed, and since I'm playing on a "long" lifespan setting, I've calculated that 4 sim-days equates roughly to 1 sim-year (assuming sims become elders at 65 years old). Nosco and Myllenium began their lives as young adults, and the time it takes for a young adult to become an adult is 80 sim-days (so about 20 years???). That time is now.
There was not much celebration. The cake seen above was baked (as is required for the age-up process), and the happy couple each blew on their respective set of candles.
Aging-up was not a graceful process for the Sabrukas. Nosco seems to have gained 20 pounds in the general face area, and Myllenium now looks exhausted.
Or maybe it's 'cause I caught her on the toilet? |
And thus, Nosco and Myllenium began their new lives as adults... with really not much else changed. Myllenium continued along her path of becoming a best-selling author, and Nosco kept working at his startup.
While playing games online, Nosco eventually achieved his lifelong aspiration of becoming a Computer Whiz.
This unlocked a new option on the computer, "Earn Money Turking". Now, I don't know what turking is (and I hope to God it isn't a misspelling of "twerking"), but geez does it bring it the money or what?
Update: I just looked up what turking was, and the only thing I found was on Urban Dictionary. For the love of God DO NOT look it up.
This revenue was for about 5 seconds of "turking". |
With his aspiration completed, Nosco needed something else to do in order to pass the time, so I had him pick up gardening.
And he's surprisingly good at it. |
Myllenium kept on writing novels and selling them to publishers, bringing in most of the family revenue, as usual. She also began working out again, at random locations and times.
We see here Myllenium doing push-ups in the kitchen, despite the workout machine I bought for her just a stone's throw away. |
I also had her pick up painting again as a hobby (she had stopped when she moved in) and ended up maxing-out her painting skills. The house is now adorned with many masterwork-quality pieces of art.
On the left is "A Wizard Did It", and on the right is "Homage to Bob Ross." |
Eventually, a life full of books and paintings can make one sort of lonely, so I had Myllenium go out a little more. Interestingly enough, she disliked public venues like the bars and nightclubs, preferring quieter venues like the library and museum. It was at the latter that she met Freya Luther, a sim I always make in every sim game in order to test the create-a-sim functions.
Here, Freya is doing what she does best, which is complain about her nonexistent sex life. I think Myllenium is getting tired of her shit. |
Aidan has grown into a real little shit, pardon my language. Here is just one of the faces he constantly makes when waking up in the morning:
His grades are going down, and he's not making any friends. Once, a girl finally started talking to him, and kept on doing so despite him generally being a little pest. He eventually invited her over, and they promptly beat the shit out of each other.
This is them fighting. |
I swear I'm gonna ship that kid off to military school if he keeps this up.
Lilith has continued to better herself, and has become a somewhat decent violin player.
She maxed-out her violin skills, and has moved on to better the more social aspects of a sim, such as her charisma and comedy skills. She's even gone and made herself a few friends in the process.
This seemed to have an overall positive effect on her, as she now eats with the rest of her family.
One day, while Nosco was tending his garden, I felt like there was something missing there, something to make it more... homey? So I tried to make a small shed in the backyard. Using only roofing, I added a window and a door, and there it was! I added a small workbench inside to give it a purpose other than just being there.
Eventually, living in the small, low-rent house allowed the family to accumulate the funds needed to move into their chateau. After saying bye to the friends they made in the area, they packed up all their valuables (mostly Myllenium's masterwork paintings) and moved out, leaving behind a single, creepy ghostly gnome.
And that's it for this update!
